Woodlands Orthopaedic Hospital

In 1984, I undertook training for the Diploma in Orthopaedic Nursing at Woodlands Orthopaedic Hospital in West Yorkshire which was then part of the former Bradford School of Nursing. The hospital, though small, had a very good reputation for training both pre-registration and post-registration student nurses and had an excellent pass rate. I believe the hospital finally closed its doors in 1989 /1990 and has now been converted into expensive housing. A large hospital badge was issued to successful students and features the white rose of Yorkshire of which I am happy to display at any time if necessary. I note that Woodlands Orthopaedic Hospital is not currently listed in any of the school of nursing records and would like to know more about its former history.

i went to this hospital in 1991/92 when i was a nurse advisor for vernon carus of preston i remember just sitting in the car looking at it what a lovely place to work, sorry it has closed. dollydettol.
