My old Sony Camera, which had an excellent close up feature, has given up the ghost. Can anyone recommend a good simple digital camera with good macro feature? Not too expensive up to about £250?

I'd go for another Sony Peter - maybe A2 onwards...

I am not a Sony man but I am aware that they bought (some years ago now) that absolutely stunning Minolta lens system, installed in the A1 onwards....

Adrian may well contribute - I have mailed him - as he is a real aficionado!!

And - a camera you already have experience with is a real bonus.  I use several large 35mm cameras (digital) but they tend to be a shade bulky and heavy.

Went out today and had a look at several different cameras and have opted for another Sony Cybershot,a  DSC WX350.So small but looks to take a clear close up.I will need to play!

Hi.

Well played Peter - Jealous in a way - but then usage determines equipment...
