Does anyone know which is the largest hospital currently in U.K., by that I mean in bed numbers.

I'm not sure & I know there user to be a publication that listed all hospitals, their facilities & bed numbers.

the new South Glasgow University hospital has recently opened with 1,109 adult beds and 256 Sick kids beds - but it  has replaced some of the city's older hospitals

Not an easy question to answer as most statistics will refer to bed numbers per Trust rather than hospital. In this case it will almost certainly be one of the large city conglomerates such as Barts, but that does comprise of 6 large hospitals.http://www.bartshealth.nhs.uk/our-hospitals/

I know from my own efforts to identify the number of beds in my own Trust just what a difficult exercise that can be.Does it include short stay trollies, etc, etc, etc?
It used to be easy to just refer to the Hospitals Year book and it's successor publications but I'm not sure if they are even published anymore?http://www.ihm.org.uk/en/about-us/history/

You have set me a poser,I am now curious to try and find the answer!
