Lizzie, do you know the weight of your London badge compared to the much earlier versions?

I think it is about 13g, our scales are not very good on small amounts- can vary.will try and compare it with mary pinsents Lh badge.

Hi Lizzie
Thanks for that.  I used some small electronic scales & both the unissued RN & EN badges weighed 15g, will weigh my older one to compare.

Hi Mike, sorry , studying now so finding things in, but did weigh them last night:
my badge: 1984; 14g
a early small LH, (probably of the first 1931 ish lot; 18g  !-- it does have a more substantial pin than the others, but no safety pin like both mine and the other early one0
another early small LH (she moved away from the London in mid 1930's so assume she had bought it before then, but it is slightly more polished than mine and the other............ 14g

hope that helps, ..but our scales do vary.. and are electronic

Thanks for that Lizzie
I'll have to weigh mine again & check on their dates to see, as well, if there are weight differences through the ages.

Ps 1st two are both Pinches, mine is fattorinis....

now how about this for a conundrum.....

The SEN LH badges around at the moment are all H/m  for Pinches....but I think that they sold up in the late 1960's...hence fattorinis taking over and the red colour change, as on mine.
So the question is , if pinches went bust/sold up were the badges not H/m and passed onto fattorinis??, and then hallmarked etc at the later date ???

Hope that makes sense...... ???

The plot thickens!
Would it be worthwhile contacting Fattorini to ascertain this?

Thats a good idea, I look forward to hearing what they tell you? How did you get on with the  Archivists at the London??

myk1066

Hi Lizzie
I've emailed them & asked how many EN's qualified from, the LH, commencing to ceasing pupil nurse training.
Regards

£105 that last LH EN went for!

backman

As anticipated the prices are dropping with each appearance of another badge. The question is,is it a bargain at £105 or overpriced at £180? I'd like one but still hanging on.

Sarah Rogers

Its the million dollar question, how many ,more of each does he have?  It may become like the liverpool eye hospital badge...
