London Hospital Badge

I'm guessing the nurse badge collecting fraternity is relatively small compared to some interest areas, so my question is, who is buying these badges at this money, I'm guessing you all know each other. I watch eBay for other items and I have seen a fair few of these specific badges sold and in the great scheme of things they don't appear to be hens teeth. Is it collectors, dealers, speculators?

mick it's probably a combination of all 3. Some badges just tend to command high prices and I am prone to "outbid rage" when its one i desperatly want

I sold 2 of these badges on ebay less than 2 years ago but each made less than £25. Why are they going for these high prices now or why were they not getting these prices when I was selling them?

Confession time - I bought this one! Have watched these going at £150 + over the years and wanted one to go with the LH Enrolled nurse badge. No more buying for a while now I'm afraid.

Does anyone know the origin of the oval shaped badge, white background, red Maltese type cross with the wording London Hospital surrounding the cross?

I suspect it may be a fund raising badge however the best advice is to contact the London Hospital Archive(well worth a visit)to see if they can help?
