I see that there is a very rare RIE 'Pelican Badge' on ebay this morning. It is my old hospital, and a beautiful badge. Someone grab it quick!

The RIE pelican badge is indeed a beauty.It comes up quite regularly on auction sites although for some reason it often has damaged enamel.As far as value is concerned,priceless to the recipient,but I have seen them go from anything around £15 to over £100,it really does depend upon condition and the state of the market(which never ceases to confound me).If sold with a Scottish states badge and any certificates ,or indeed photographs of the recipient in uniform wearing it,I would expect it to fetch more.
