Hi all
Does anyone know anything about these nurses or the organisation? Nice badge just gone on ebay.
Mike
THe records of all the nurses up to badge number 820 are held by the R.A.M.C./Q.A.R.A.N.C. museum also there is aretired Lt.Col. ex-nurse from the Aldershot area who specalises in the medical services relating to the Boer War, and P.C.A.N.S.R. was from 1890 -1907.
I think you should google Boer War medical services?
I believe that the badge you mean is not the PCANSR military badge ,that one is the one Barry is referring to.That excellent site is :http://www.boerwarnurses.com/web/index.html
The badge you refer to is that is Princess Christians Trained Nurses, who were early District Nurses based out of Windsor. see;https://www.flickr.com/photos/backmanmal/11894589903/in/photolist-j85Tbg-je6C3U-6nyxHa
If you have your "British Nursing Badges" to hand,it is on page 39.
A nice early badge which seldom comes up nowadays,it will interesting to see how much it reaches?
Yes you are right on both counts & I have looked in the bible & found that info, many thanks.

Hi Mike. Did you win it? Hope so.
Unfortunately not, I hope it was one of our friends on here.
I believe we may have been "Edelweissed" -To be outbid on a top quality item in the closing seconds of an auction. :D
yes that happened to me with the recent EBH but I still can't tell who outbid me Sorry to hear you didn't get the PC badge - like me maybe you'll win win the next one that comes up for sale
