Post by: backman on April 14, 2014, 10:12:50 PM
Nice to see a Hospital that recognises that badges have a place in recognising Nursing today.

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust ( Basingstoke, Andover and Winchester) have been doing this now for a number of years. They also have WOW awards where any hospital staff not just nurses, are nominated by patients who feel that they have gone above and beyond duty. As a Governor I go to the Badge and WOW awards, listening to some of the citations I feel quite emotional. Really nice when I see a nurse that I trained getting the award. Must say these evenings restore my faith in nursing when one constantly reads the bad press - I guess good care isn't newsworthy.

I think it's a brilliant idea, I wish our trust would do the same, I may even suggest it!  Someone should contact the Plymouth guys & see if we can get a peep of the winning design.
