Just when you think you know what badges and medals were issued by a hospital,a whole lot more spring up! I have just received a copy of the Journal of the Westminster hospital from 1972 to find an article with a picture of several different awards and medals issued by the hospital. They all feature the Portcullis design which features on their belt buckles and Hospital League badges.I have attempted to add a picture but this frequently goes awry for me so if anyone wants a copy of the article do please PM me.

Hi Peter
I would like a copy of the article. Many thanks
Have emailed this to you.
Thanks Peter for sending me this information about the Westminster Hospital Awards and Medals. As usual your information on such matters is superb. Have you even thought about going on "Mastermind specialist subject Nursing Badges"! All best wishes. Regards John
Hello,
I'd be interested in a copy of the badges & medals issued by Westminster Hospital, any news about those S.C.M. badges and Jersey button.
hi and pretty please i would also love a copy xx :-*
Can I have a copy please?
Mike
And me too if you've time please Peter!
Hi Peter,
Rather late in the day - but as you know history has a way of catching up - a copy would be most welcome via email if possible.
Will.
will do ,as soon as I get home at the end of the month if that's ok?
I find that I actually missed one of these prize badges at auction after the event, much to my annoyance.Photo, curtesy of the auctioneers is to be found at www.flickr.com/photos/backmanmal/18603437059/
What a really lovely badge, pristine!!
I liked Johhny4v's comment about mastermind. When I met the woman who produced The Scottish women's Hospitals TV programme and she told me she had been talking to an expert on nursing history who lived in Norfolk, I was convinced it was Pete ( he tells me it wasn't). :D
Caroline
Hi Caroline.
"They seek him here, They seek him there....." with apologies to Peter....
Will.
I must say that there are far more knowledgable members of this group,it's just that I am more than happy to share my knowledge than others. I am always happy to learn from others however and would encourage people to participate in our forums. If you know something about the history of your own hospital badge, for example, please share it here as it all adds to the collective knowledge!
We should set a challenge? Everyone write up what they know and can find out, say about your training scholl badge, or a hospital badge here you worked for along time/ have associations with , it is easier to find information when you have trained there..then we could share it on here(sorry Will, you do so much typing up already....) sarah
Hi Sarah,
My cup runneth over!!!!....................
But, your being a veritable font of new ideas Sarah, and perhaps knowing that I can only work at one speed - and (being a man) cannot multitask (!) you can volunteer the research on my Parkside badge on my behalf - I promise that I won't complain!!
Will.
Excellent idea,I will contribute once I get home next week
I will give it a go - St Matthews hospital Burntwood, and pprapss a bit about other hospitals in the group.
Great! sarah
