Title: Greenwich Hospital School
Post by: alastaircox on December 11, 2013, 10:21:05 AM
I recently picked up the attached silver medal and although not strictly nursing, it is interesting.

Does any one have any thoughts about tracking down the recipient?

One would assume JAs (James?) Carrall went on to join the navy but I can find no trace of him.

I'll have a trawl on ancestry.....

As you say not nurse related but still of interest. The School records do exist at Kew;http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/SearchUI/details?Uri=C1782

The Royal Hospital School moved to Ipswich in the 1930s but I am unsure if it still exists?
