Hi, I have just bought ( and am returning ) a naval school of nursing sen version, it looks like others on the back that were sold as replicAS, , but the front picture on ebay looks genuine the seller was very good and has refunded me in full, plus wants the badge back and has paid postage for that

Hi Lizzie.
Yes, it looked just too good to be true... Nice that your seller refunded, but is he/she still selling the badge and if so is it labelled as a replica?

hi -is it the same guy who sells other navy badges or the one that has just sold and the seller has offered me one as a 2nd chance !!!???! I still think the SENs are replicas and still maintain that the one that was sold to me as an original is in fact a replica The back and pin are all wrong and the rear is different compared to that of the SRN version Its getting to the point that I will only buy from good sources - Pete can testify to that as I have just gotten 2 Worcester badges from him and thay are just divine. I have sold replicas and have listed as such. They are out there and I have 3 in my collection bought as replicas at £1 each.

Hi, no it was another seller...jayne 8545... i think, she hasnt got it back yet..and i realised she didnt refund my postage though-i did think it was a bit shiny..should have trusted my gut instinct!..the navy sellers ones seem to go or a lot more. I have bought replicas...but knowingly!

Hi.
But then again - some replica badges are well worth having, particularly if they are not otherwise available and you need to add missing items to a collection. But I would only ever buy from a reputable seller of replicas. 'Ali Costello' (a nurse teacher I believe) has supplied us - SoN- with some superb replicas which we used as Christmas competition prizes a couple of years ago. They were absolutely superb.... I don't know of anyone else who has Ali's experience though.
He wrote an artcle for us which is here:-

Some of the links will no longer work, but that should not detract from the article.
Having said that a badge which appears too shiny-new very probably is - and the reverse side will often reveal cheap pins and or shoddy workmanship. Buyer beware - unless you want a replica collection..... Now there's a thought...
