Title: st johns hospital, stags head

Hi, please can any one give me some information about st johns hospital badge with a stags head on it? thanks Lizzie

If this is the Lewisham crest,this is one of a number of hospitals which feature this design;http://nursingbadges.multiply.com/photos/album/85/Similar_but_DifferentSets#photo=7

The badge shows the stags head from the arms of the earl of Dartmouth(family name Legge) holders of the manor of Lewisham,complete with the mullet/star all of which appears on the shield used at that time by the borough of Lewisham.across the antlers is tied the twisted wreath and the bird is the Raven alluding to the local river Revensbourne.The stag holds in its mouth the rod of Asclepius.

HI Both, many thanks for your help, i tried searching multiply but am no good!... but thanks for link, yes it is the St Johns one pictured in the middle bottom, it hasnt arrived yet.. a buy it now on ebay, and was just listed when i saw it, a bit of a punt! Any ideas about what period it is please? thanks for your help, will try and post a pic when it arrives, many thanks , sarah

ps ..re the ravensbourne, mu elder son is just completeing his foundation art degree there at the moment...we knew it was named after a river(its by the o2 arena but was in chislehurst until 18/12 ago .... life overlaps!
