Hi there
I trained in the Bromley Health Authority as was & have their badge of which there are 2 versions that I know of. They were awarded in the days when you were employed by a hospital or health authority prior to the university training that nurses now receive. Mine was awarded to both registered as well enrolled nurses. Some badges were of the same design but may have differed in colour, i.e. blue for registered nurses, green for enrolled nurse, or could have been silver for registered, bronze for enrolled nurses. Some badges, wherever you trained, were inscribed whilst others were not. You could also get it engraved yourself. Inscriptions could include the recepients name, dates of training or award date. Badges could also be awarded in gold, usually a prize medal for highest score in exams followed by silver & bronze (1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes). I have Bolton SoN badge set, bronze for enrolled, green for RGN & red for RMN. You usually find thar blue is usually associated with registered nurses whilst green or bronze is associated with enrolled nurses. I also have a couple of badges awarded for long service. Please follow this link below to look at my Bromley HA badges.

Hi Mike, many thanks, Lizzie
Most County Council badges where worn by District/Community nurses however the two Cornish bullion badges are hat badges.
I have two for Cheshire and a few others.
All the best,
