Having recently been asked for items to commemorate the 25th anniversary of my local hospital,James Paget in Gorleston, I was surprised just how little I have in the way of pictures, books, journals and ephemera from the 1970s & 1980s. I have a reasonable amount of stuff from earlier which I suppose comes up for sale as old nurses die off but not much for the age when many of us older nurses trained and staffed. I think for many people nursing history is about the times before they trained, rather that our stories all constitute history for future generations. Perhaps we should all get involved in passing on our memories before they are lost?
