found this wonderful collection on ebay 221631381346. Now before you all put your hands up in horror- look at what you get and wouldn't it be nice to buy such a wonderful collection

Some interesting looking items amongst this lot but at first glance there are a number of common or non nursing items amongst the badges. It would be nice to see a more detailed listing of these as there appear to be some interesting items there, including a gold Nightingale/Kings badge? It might sell at that price but possibly only to the US where they put a slightly different value on Nursing History?

Hi.

Well, the Americans (or at least this one) certainly seem to place a high value on nursing history.  12.000 USD is a reasonable amount of money.  Plus 60 USD P/P.  But then, it is British Nursing History being sold in America.... Maybe 7.700 GB Pounds give or take a little...

I could not help but wonder if there is any connection between the nursing history of Miss Barabara Tyler - one time assistant matron at St Tomas's Hospital (London/Hydestyle) we are currently finding on the SoN news pages:-

http://www.schoolsofnursing.co.uk/Collections1/Collections20.htm

All donated by Gina O (America) and Keith Haikes (America).  Gina was the first to provide the photographs and permissions, whilst Keith kindly assisted further when ownership (Badge/memorabilia including Ms Tyler's scrapbook was passed to him.  We are currently at page eight (possibly the last page.

Could this be the same lot? The scrapbook doesn't look the same and like Peter, I would certainly love a lot more detail.  Perhaps we can get it from the current seller....

Whatever, we are obviously fortunate in having the donation and permissions to publish miss Tyler's scrapbook...

I wonder.......  And serious thanks to Sue for pointing to the lot....

Will.
