Title: SoN News Page
Post by: wilfb on October 31, 2012, 08:57:41 PM
Hi.

And very sincere apologies to anyone who has been checking for the October News...

It is late - and not because of my technical tinkerings.  My wife is currently at our home in the UK on family business.  She forgot to tell me before she left:-

1. Where to buy food...
2. How to cook it if necessary (I don't do raw meat!).
3. How to wash up.
4. How to decipher the microwave booklet.
5. How to work the washing machine.

Oh' and our dog is insisting that it knows the time (tea-time) better than I do.....  My nearest returns on Tuesday next - I will probably still be doing the washing up!!

But I will endeavour seriously to finish preparing the SoN news and get it on-line shortly...

Will.
Ps. Does anyone know the address of a good cleaner? Please...

I can't offer my cleaning services as sleazy jet only do Edinburgh to Athens so here are some useful tips
1- try the local taverna you can't beat dolmades and a mythos
2 - put food in oven and its ready when the smoke detector rings
3- you live in Greece do it the greek way and smash it on the floor!
4- turn the dial and food is ready when you hear a "ting"
5- just don't put reds in with yer whites unless you want to look pretty in pink
Dogs - (well mine does) always know when its teatime
look forward to reading the next edition when you get time after the housework
The RCN history of nursing may well be worth a visit and maybe it would be nice to all meet up then  pop to Heathrow and yours in time for supper!!!

Hi.

finding the timely (requested by myself!) advice on how to survive whilst my wife was away sent by 'nursesue' , I am pleased to be able to say that all is now well.

And here we are with the October news!  Yes, sorry, the advice worked but the washing up didn't.  I lost two weeks (but gained 5lb)... Here is the newspage link:-

Yes, three articles we need to draw your attention to.

My sincere apologies for the late publication, some things were just unavoidable.

Enjoy! I never like my own work, but I hope that we have something of interest to everyone.
Will.

Reading through Sarah's article on the London badge I think the Derby badge which I believed to be for the City Hospital may in fact be for the Children's Hospital? Definitely in the style of the London;  http://www.flickr.com/photos/backmanmal/3453434958/

Hi.

I can cope with the praise....!  Rosemary, what is multi-tasking? Is it anything related to work? If so I need to know - urgently!

But many thanks to all.  I am preparing my New Year Resolution - 'Must try harder'...? (I like the comments)....

Hi.

Just a note to say that we are now back from our travels and I am aiming on our first news page of 2014 by the end of the month.

Many thanks for your previous support and comments.  I am still trying to think of a good riposte to magpies comment re: 'men multitasking' but cannot dream one up at the moment. But meanwhile I will continue to ask my wife to take care of anything too complicated for me... Seems a good plan!

Will.
