Post by: barrysutton on June 23, 2014, 12:04:13 AM
Does anyone know anything about this Hospital, the badge I have is a large 8-pointed star with a roped dome glass covered centre with, Life Governor/G.A. Golder/Westham/Hospital on the reverse it says - From/ George Tutill/Regalia Depot/83 City Road/ London
Also there is no affixing device to the reverse.

Sounds like a Governor's Jewel or medal from the hospital that later became Queen Mary's Hospital for the East End;   http://apps.nationalarchives.gov.uk/hospitalrecords/details.asp?id=754

The fight to raise funds for the various Voluntary and Cottage Hospitals, pre NHS mean there are a wide variety of such fund Raiser type badges and medals out there to recognise the efforts of donors and collectors. They make a nice collecting field in their own right.A picture would be nice Barry?
