Title: Woodlands Orthopaedic Hospital
Post by: uchpupil on April 10, 2007, 08:34:55 PM
In 1984, I undertook training for the Diploma in Orthopaedic Nursing at Woodlands Orthopaedic Hospital in West Yorkshire which was then part of the former Bradford School of Nursing. The hospital, though small, had a very good reputation for training both pre-registration and post-registration student nurses and had an excellent pass rate. I believe the hospital finally closed its doors in 1989 /1990 and has now been converted into expensive housing. A large hospital badge was issued to successful students and features the white rose of Yorkshire of which I am happy to display at any time if necessary. I note that Woodlands Orthopaedic Hospital is not currently listed in any of the school of nursing records and would like to know more about its former history.

I believe this is the badge; http://squirl.info/asset/show/458?c=Decorative&i=2&cid=0

Otherwise I have seen little in the way of information or pictures on this hospital; http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/hospitalrecords/details.asp?id=2238&hospital=woodlands&town=&searchdatabase.x=44&searchdatabase.y=8

Perhaps other members can fill in more details?
