Whilst I may not have always agreed with all of the late Claire Rayners opinions on Nurses and Nursing, she was a keen advocate for the profession. In this weeks nursing standard are an obituary and picture of her in her uniform.Whilst I knew that she had trained as a nurse, I had not realised was that she had won the Royal Northern Hospital's Gold Medal  for outstanding achievement. The badge appears to be plain gold in the form of an eight pointed star hanging from a suspension bar.Any clearer pictures would be welcomed if anyone can help?
