Perhaps not strictly nurses, perhaps more air ambulance, but they undoubtedly nursed many of our WWI soldiers and brought them home - or died trying.  And weren't they so very young....?

Not 'Nightingales' in our understanding maybe, but who could have done more...

Just had a quick read, they were nurses.  Wow, simply amazing, all praise to them, lest we forget!
