Whilst reading the Daily Mail newspaper  weekend magazine today I came across an article about the Queen Alexandra nurses serving in WWII. I was so moved by the article I just wanted to share it with you

quote - Brenda had just become engaged to a young officer, and her friend recalls "He was so upset when he heard that he stood up in silhouette and deliberately made himself a target. He was killed instantly. When his remains were found after the war he was identified by his fiancee's hospital badge which she had given him as a keepsake"

I really felt quite moved by this and have posted a similar piece on nursing badges website
Anyhow its taken from a book called Sisters In Arms by Nicola Tyrer, Weidenfeld & Nicholson
