The forum and gallery have both been updated to their latest versions, so some things may look different or act slightly differently -- hopefully nothing important!

Hi.

Only registered members can read the notice board.

*I have had to temporarily suspend registration of new members - attempted registration by spammers was escalating and demanding increasing amounts of time separating wheat from chaff - time which we currently do not have. Apologies. Applications/Registrations by email are still possible. I will reopen the gates as soon as the situation resolves.

All other functions on schoolsofnursing are operating normally.

Very Best.
Will.

Thanks Will, what a shame,

Hi lizzie.

No - it isn't really a problem. Non-members could not read the notice board anyway - it's members only!  All the other sections of the site are readable by anyone - though of course replies and viewing the up-loadable galleries is not available. It has to be that way or we would probably have the latest ladies (or men!!) of the 'Sun' all over the site - along with the adverts for heaven knows what.... But joking aside, keeping out the 'bogies' by this means keeps our site safe and private whilst allowing public access.

Spammers and the like tend to run in waves - peaks and troughs - we are just dodging a peak. Even with full automation administrators will still have a job as the uninvited will always seek a way around defences.

But yes, it is a shame that it is necessary at all.  Maybe one day we will have a button marked 'No spam' which spammers will accept and avoid. Until then the button has to be marked 'No admission' (without a direct genuine email request).  The wave will pass.

Best not to elaborate further.

Best.
Will.
