I have just acquired some items relating to a nurse who worked as a CBNA nurse in 1911 in Edmonton.I must admit to knowing little about the system other than it appears to have provided nurses to assist in the care of poor people and their families in the home. They appear to have trained their own nurses and I know that this training came in for criticism from some hospital matrons as being inadequate. There are medals/badges I have seen relating to the organisation but I wonder if anyone knew more about the Cottage Benefit Nursing Association and the Holt-Ockley System or sources of information on this as I would love to find out more?
